#RainbowSnippets: Jack and Marjory

Happy Saturday! Here’s my #RainbowSnippets post for this week – if you’re new to this, Rainbow Snippets is a chance to read and share 6 sentences of LGBTQIA+ fiction every Saturday. There’s a huge variety from Steampunk, like mine, to Romance, Fantasy, Paranormal, Comedy and everything in between. You can join the fun and read all the other fabulous snippets at the wonderfully friendly and supportive official facebook group here 🙂

So, here is the next snippet from Jack and Marjory – my novella-in-progress which gives two of my Bi-Gendered characters a chance to tell something of their own little side-adventure, which actually had a massive impact on the history of Ire in a ‘behind-the-scenes’ kind of way.

If you missed last week’s snippet you can catch up here: #RainbowSnippets: Jack and Marjory

If you want to start from the beginning you can do so here:

We bowled back round to the front of the building and in through the sea of bobbies without raising an eyebrow, up the stairs and found our room without any further arse-istance.

Only at this point, when we saw the chest sitting there at the end of the bed, looking for all the world like any other travelling case, did we stop thinkin’ like we was on some pleasure jaunt and start wonderin’ what exactly it was about this particular collection of fine chinaware that could save a city, two lives and an obscene amount of lemonade.

being an entertaining and informative piece of travel writing by a couple of rogues on the run as they attempt to avoid the machinations of wizards, monarchs and a ruthless band of beatnik poets, deflect a civil war and deliver a priceless, historical tea set before the owner finds himself at the gallows.

Wishing you all a most splendiferous week and don’t forget to check in at the #rainbowsnippets facebook group for more fabulous snippets of LGBTQIA+ fiction 🙂

  1. That must be a lot of lemonade.

Is this a rainboa you wear, like a fluffy, impractical scarf, or, is it a large, squeezy snake?

But seriously, a rainbow-feathered squeezy snake: the dreaded rainboa constrictor!

Thanks for not getting mad, Penny!
Luv the kids and their wonderful tale.
        Happy Trails!

LOL! I know, I’m laughing at the awesome image even as I’m cringing at my typo, lol, it was worth it – snigger. Anyway what is life if we can’t laugh at ourselves, I’d never get mad over something like that; I only get mad over serious stuff, like someone putting milk and sugar in my tea Noooooooooo! 😉

  4. Hmmm, if they ‘bowled’ back around to the front of the building, then I think it is Jack doing the walking…

Oh yes, sorry Icky I misunderstood what you were sayin – no brain here, we’ve all got the dreaded vomiting bug and it’s pushed my very little brain right out of my head completely! – yes it’s Jack doing the bowling cockney swagger like ‘it’s cool, nobody made a twat of us, nobody whatsoever…’ lol.

I wonder what they’re going to do with all that lemonade. And what makes the china so special that it can do so much!
