Happy Saturday!

I think the end is in sight for out stormy weather – tentacles crossed at any rate! Here’s my #RainbowSnippets post for this week – if you’re new to this, Rainbow Snippets is a chance to read and share 6 sentences of LGBTQIA+ fiction every Saturday. There’s a huge variety from Steampunk, like mine, to Romance, Fantasy, Paranormal, Comedy and everything in between. You can join the fun and read all the other fabulous snippets at the wonderfully friendly and supportive official facebook group here 🙂

So, here is the next snippet from Jack and Marjory – my novella-in-progress which gives two of my Bi-Gendered characters a chance to tell something of their own little side-adventure, which actually had a massive impact on the history of Ire in a ‘behind-the-scenes’ kind of way. It’s seven sentences, sorry, which I hope you’ll forgive, but two of them are very short!

If you missed last week’s snippet you can catch up here: #RainbowSnippets: Jack and Marjory

If you want to start from the beginning you can do so here:

To re-cap, Jack and Marjory are being taken back to Lancaster by the poet and revolutionary Michael Biscotti and have just been told that Max, the leader of the revolution, has been arrested and is going to be hung on Friday. They assume the Biscottis have a rescue plan up their sleeves, but we all know what assumption is the mother of, don’t we? …

Last line from last week: so what were the Biscottis going to do about it ? Rescue him ?

We remembered Michael’s words “…no amount of fine china, or indeed anything else, is going to save him…”

No, then. Right. Well, perhaps they were carrying out Max’s own contingency plan, carefully put in place as back-up to cover just such an unfortunate eventuality ?

Yeah, that must be it.

So why didn’t Max let us know he had a back up plan before we left…

being an entertaining and informative piece of travel writing by a couple of rogues on the run as they attempt to avoid the machinations of wizards, monarchs and a ruthless band of beatnik poets, deflect a civil war and deliver a priceless, historical tea set before the owner finds himself at the gallows.

Wishing you all a most splendiferous week and don’t forget to check in at the #rainbowsnippets facebook group for more fabulous snippets of LGBTQIA+ fiction 🙂

Jack and Marjory hope so too! So, in fact, does his octopus Collin who is keeping his tentacles crossed, I assure you! 😉 XD

He’s just so selfishly disorganised isn’t he? I mean, didn’t he stop to think about how distressed and confused Jack and Marjory would be if he got himself caught and hung? Tsk! 😉 XD

  4. I really liked the picture of the ship and rainbow! As to backup plans, sure there must be a Plan A, and if the fails, a Plan B, C, D, E, etc.? (Impatiently waiting to find out! LOL)

Aw thankyou! It’s good to hear from you I hope you and Darq are well! x Yes having a back up plan or three is certainly the best policy, let’s hope SOMEONE in this revolutionary outfit has realised that, eh? 😉 XD
